Nearly 100 booths representing business, community and educational resources will be on display at the second annual BizEd Community Expo hosted by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Barrington 220 at Barrington High School on Sunday, April 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Expo will showcase the dynamic resources and programs available to residents in the Barrington Region.
“This is a community event dedicated to connecting local families with the first-rate programs and resources available in the Barrington region,” said BACC President/CEO Suzanne Corr. “The Expo is a family affair – with hands-on activities for all ages, business and community booths, local entertainment, food and refreshments that acquaint you with the resources accessible in our own communities.”
The BizEd Community Expo will include nearly 100 booths representing local business, community groups and nonprofits, and educational resources. A section of the expo is dedicated to a hands-on S.T.E.M. Fair (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). In addition, there will be robotics demos, food and refreshments, local youth entertainment and more. New this year, the event will include selected Lemonade Stands developed by business teams comprised of students from Barrington’s elementary schools who are participating in a new entrepreneurial training program.
Attendance to the Community Expo is free to the public and parking is free in the BHS lots. Throughout the day attendees can win free raffle prizes and enter to win a $500 Barrington Area Shopping Spree. The entrance to the show is off of Hart Rd. at Entrance # 34, the Main Gym/Natatorium entrance. Hundreds of local residents are expected to attend.
Vendor booths for the BizEd Community Expo as well as sponsorship and advertising opportunities are still available. To register call (847) 381-2525 or visit the BACC website at BarringtonChamber.com.
“The Expo will be a great venue for reaching residents and community leaders, “ Corr said, “all gathered in one place to provide the community-at-large with myriad resources. Our partnership with District 220 and the families it serves, coupled with all of the activities and entertainment, promises exhibitors a great turnout.”
