This week’s Barrington Street Style update is all about menswear. In recent years, it seems the art of men’s tailoring, accessories, suiting and fine style dressing has made a comeback. It’s exciting to see classic menswear being embraced by multiple generations. For Terry Owens, fine menswear has been his passion and professional focus for the past 40 years.
Terry’s eye for quality, detail and fit is what makes his style stand out. Terry is the manager and buyer at Phillips Men’s Wear of Barrington. Phillips is the second oldest men’s clothier in the Midwest and it has been a “well bred Barrington tradition since 1948”. Phillips is located in the heart of downtown Barrington at 100 E Station Street. Terry has been with Phillips for 25 years.
Terry’s style is classic. When I caught up with him, he was wearing a navy blue linen suit that is perfect for the summer months. He also wore a green and blue striped custom shirt and a navy and green striped tie. He had on some amazing eye-bobs glasses, the model is called topless. To complete his look, Terry wore brown wingtips. His entire look can be found at Phillips. Terry’s style has been shaped by his 40 years in the menswear industry and his looks are living proof that great style is truly timeless.
