247. Enjoy a Day of Polo at the LeCompte/Kalaway Trailowners Cup

Chicagoland’s Single Largest Polo Event is coming up on Saturday, September 12th in Barrington Hills!  Gates at the 11th Annual LeCompte/Kalaway Trailowers Cup open at 11 a.m and the day’s events include hours of great polo, finely decorated tailgates and a number of exciting activities for entertainment, back by popular demand.

The Riding Club of Barrington Hills and the Barrington Hills Polo Club invite you to return to the way the game of polo is meant to be enjoyed, where polo players and fans of all ages can gather in a world-class venue for the sport and the lifestyle.

The tournament will take place at the Oakwood Farms polo fields at 250 Deepwood Court in Barrington Hills.  Field parking is available at 350 Bateman Road.

Here’s the schedule for the day:

  • 12:00 – Pony club quadrille; pony club does colorful routine on the field
  • 12:20 – National anthem
  • 12:25 – Running of the hounds’ dozens of hunting hounds traverse the field
  • 12:45 – 1st ball is thrown in for fits match by convertible on the field
  • 2:25 – First match ceremony at announcer stand
  • 2:35 – Parade of players for the 2nd match led by Rolls Royce convertible
  • 3:15 – Divot stomp and hay wagon rides
  • 4:15 – 2nd divot stomp and hay wagon rides.

There will also be a Pony Club quadrille demonstration, Medieval Times half-time show, Best Hat competition, Tailgate competition, Hay wagon rides and more!

Situated on an exclusive private estate in Barrington Hills, the Polo Club’s lush green playing field is a spectacular tree-lined setting for entertaining customers, clients, family and friends with a full day of exciting polo at the most important social event on the Barrington Hills calendar.

The Riding Club of Barrington Hills and the Barrington Hills Polo Club co-host the event as a “thank you” for Barrington Hills trail landowners who allow riding trails across their properties. In addition to free admission, trail landowners will be served a complimentary gourmet feast under a private field side tent.
