Home Newsroom Local Businesses Share Tips for Healthy Living During Heinen’s Grocery Wellness Fair

We picked up some great ideas for a healthy start to the new year thanks to the store-wide Wellness Fair Heinen’s Grocery hosted on Saturday. Local health-minded businesses and food vendors were there to share their knowledge for a renewed focus on healthy foods, products and overall wellness in 2016.

When it comes to healthy eating, a representative from I Heart Keenwah of Ravenswood shared simple advice. Company representative, Karina Palukaitis, says she finds ways to make healthy eating more convenient, just as they have with I Heart Keenwah. “We took quinoa and turned it into a snack.”

Jamie Wagener, owner of The Blissfull Kitchen, a private chef and consulting service, prepared fresh food samples during the event. Jamie says she deeply believes in the power of food and spends her days educating and empowering others to create healthy and happy lives with this reminder. “Our choices with food impact our whole lives…mind and body.”

Businesses such as Diegnan Family Chiropractic, Natural Awakenings, Gym Guyz and Beth Coulter Yoga shared the connection between nutrition and wellness and the local services they offer.  I Heart Keenwah was one of several area food vendors giving samples of their food along with Full Belly, Karma Kombucha, Jessica’s Granola, Path of Life, Melissa’s Produce and Crafthouse Cocktails.

If you missed the event, Heinen’s always has a Wellness consultant available in store to help you find products and answer questions about the latest trends to boost health and wellness.

Heinen’s Grocery is located at 500 N. Hough Street, between E. Main Street and Route 14 (next to Meatheads) in Barrington, Illinois. They’re open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, visit Heinens.com and be sure to follow their social media feeds for the latest info about Heinen’s products, events, news and recipes.
