Paris Market Antiques owner, Gwendolyn Whiston is on a mission to help bring more twinkle to your table and more history to your home this holiday season. The shop’s annual Holiday Open House starts Saturday, November 17th and runs through Monday, December 24th, featuring vintage Christmas items, tableware, collectables and more from every era.
Set up to look like a French flea market, Paris Market Antiques is filled with antique china, crystal, silver, decor, art, furniture and treasured pieces waiting for new life with another family’s holiday traditions.
Gwendolyn says her secret to adding sparkle to your table and home this holiday season starts with the flicker of candlelight reflected off meaningful serving pieces and cherished decor. “Start with beautiful china and candles, add vintage crystal and silver for color and light. Candles add a little bit of festivity to the whole table and, of course, the food has to look just beautiful. If you’re going to serve turkey, you have to see it on the platter at the table before it’s cut because it just looks so dramatic.”
To celebrate Gwendolyn’s love of a beautifully set holiday table, in the coming weeks we’re going to be featuring some of the special pieces currently available at Paris Market Antiques. We’re starting today with a very rare set of 1950’s wild turkey transferware including dinner and salad plates, cups, saucers and platters. They came from a Chicagoland estate and are waiting to take center stage yet again this Thanksgiving.
