The events highlighted below have a range of roles for teens who want to get involved with community service AND for adults who are looking for something fun & interesting to do!

ART IN THE BARN

This annual art event organized by the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Auxiliary is just around the corner – September 23-24, 2023. The Auxiliary is looking for volunteers ages 14 and older to help make this community event a success. There are many opportunities to volunteer with friends and family. Click here.

TARTANS OF THE TRUST EVENT (BACT)

This is the biggest and most important event for the Barrington Area Conservation Trust (BACT). Volunteers ages 12 and up in 2 – 3 hour shifts are needed to help with the event on Sunday, September 24th 2023 from 1:00-5:00 pm in Barrington. Click here.

CITIZENS FOR CONSERVATION (CFC)

Each fall, CFC offers a large variety of native trees and shrubs for sale. Native trees and shrubs are a great addition to any landscape as they attract a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. Volunteers are needed on October 11th and October 14th to assist with CFC with the setup and during the pickup. Click here.

Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) was created to help nonprofits succeed and benefit the community. We do this by connecting nonprofits with each other and to volunteers via our free & easy to use platform!

About the Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC)

Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC)‘s goal is to bring all 100+ Barrington area nonprofits, churches and service organizations in a free & easy to use database so that volunteers can easily find opportunities. The foundation of BAVC is a volunteer match platform called Get Connected which serves as a clearinghouse to bring together organizations, volunteers, and collaborators to match volunteer interests with nonprofits needing assistance. GetConnected also offers organizations optional features such as easy record keeping of volunteer hours, as well as mobile check in and shift reminders and other ways to communicate with volunteers. Learn more at TheBAVC.org. Please also visit BAVC’s Facebook & Instagram pages! * BAVC Photos by Bob Lee
