The end of summer often marks a transition for families as a relaxing season gives way to the busy months ahead. The same applies to nonprofits as fall is often the beginning of an especially busy season as they work to meet their goals and finish the year strong. Many nonprofits hold fundraisers during the fall months, hoping these events will provide a stronger financial footing and help them reach their goals for the year.
Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) helps nonprofits recruit volunteers for these events while also promoting their organizations within the community. Through the BAVC website, nonprofits can share volunteer opportunities, list the positions they need to fill for an event, and let community members know how they can get involved and support their mission.

Barrington Dance Ensemble – James Bond Gala

Love events and being in the middle of the action? Help keep this James Bond-themed fundraising gala running smoothly by supporting games, guest experiences, and event logistics throughout the evening.
Barrington Dance Ensemble is seeking energetic, friendly volunteers to help create a smooth, exciting guest experience while supporting one of BDE’s most important fundraising nights of the year.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fast-paced events, interacting with people, and being part of a mission-driven evening. BYE is looking for volunteers age 16 and up to help.
Funds raised at the gala support youth dance education, scholarships, performances, and community outreach programs.

Children’s Advocacy Center – Golf Outing
Wednesday Sept. 23, 2026
Spend a day at the Bridges of Poplar Creek golf course as a hole volunteer or help with golfer check-in for a few hours in the morning. The Herb Horn Memorial Golf Tournament raises critical funds to keep CAC’s specialized services for young survivors of abuse free of charge. Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County serves children and non-offending family members in 38 north and northwest suburbs.
Volunteers should dress for the weather and bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear etc. Lunch will be provided. Hole volunteers will have folding chairs for seating.

WINGS Program – Octoberfest Half Marathon
The mission of WINGS Program, Inc. is to provide housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence.
Volunteers will help with the process of participants checking in, post-race registration/food, course marshal, water station and finish line. Eagle Scout or Girl Scout troops who are interested in doing projects for WINGS are welcome.

Barrington Hills Fall Festival – Join the Fun!

Help bring one of Barrington Hills’ favorite community traditions to life! The afternoon features live music, great food and beverages, family-friendly activities, fall décor, and plenty of community spirit.
Friendly volunteers are needed to help make the day run smoothly, whether its just 2 hours or the whole day! Volunteer opportunities are available before, during, and after the festival, including setup, event shifts, and cleanup.
Choose a shift that works with your schedule – Students can earn service hours and choose a shift that works for their schedule. Plus all Volunteers will receive a Barrington Hills Fall Festival T-shirt!
