278. COOK MORE – 2011 New Year’s Resolution #2
I’m about to show you something totally disgusting. But let me start by explaining that I have fallen into this bad habit of regularly finding our family dinners in the frozen food aisle at the Barrington Jewel. Photographer Anthony Tortoriello recently snapped a photo of that aisle during a late night visit and, though his image paints a cool and colorful picture, I’m expanding my grocery horizons in 2011 and will be filling my cart with more fresh, less frozen.
Now to the horrible picture that I took last month in my very own kitchen. But I am warning you, if you sicken easily, you do NOT want to look too closely. THIS is what my husband, Bill recently cooked for dinner……

I’m trying to be selective as I make my new years resolutions for 2011. With two young kids at home, I have to be realistic about how much time there is to tackle my “Master” to-do list. Instead, I’m choosing fewer goals that are the most important, starting with finding time to read more to myself and to my kids. For me, I just picked up a book recommended by a friend called The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barberry. And I’m turning to the Barrington Area librarians to recommend some new books for my kids.
The youth services librarians have a wealth of knowledge about the best and latest children’s books. They offer a variety of children’s storytime sessions and they always choose great books to read.…
