There’s a full schedule of high school sports and homecoming fun planned in Barrington this weekend. To get into the spirit, Barrington High School students created a “Magic” music video that fits in with this year’s homecoming theme and has already had over 10,000 hits on YouTube! And one of the weekend’s highlights will definitely be the homecoming parade which starts at 10:15 tomorrow morning.
Students and alumni have been designing parade floats all week so it’ll be fun to see them in action tomorrow. The parade starts at Metra’s commuter train lot in downtown Barrington.
They’ll head north on Wool Street, go west on Main Street and head all the way down to the high school. The Varsity boys soccer game starts after the parade at the High School Stadium at 11:30 and the Varsity football game starts at 2PM. The team is undefeated this year and they’re playing the 4-and-1 Schaumburg Saxons, so this game could push the Broncos closer to first place in the Mid-Suburban League Conference.
The day will end with the “Harry Potter Homecoming” dance at the high school. BHS Associate Principal, Paul Gillette, says it’s the first time in several years that the student council has chosen a theme tied to academics. To get in the mood for the “magic” of this weekend, just take a look at this cool and very clever music video created by students for this year’s festivities.
