Mother’s Day is just a few days away and I thought it would be fun to collect some favorite words of wisdom from moms right her in Barrington. Did your mom ever give you a piece of advice that has come back to help (or haunt) you? Did you pick up any of her favorite sayings that you now find yourself repeating to the kids in your life? My mom has shared many memorable words over the years. Some make me cringe. Many make me smile. But there is one piece of advice that I’ll never forget.
When I was little, my mom liked to remind me of The Golden Rule, treat others as you’d like to be treated. When I was a rebellious teenager, I heard her repeatedly say, “Be careful, or your face might freeze that way” and she often called me, “Lizzy Last Word”, a nickname that still surfaces from time to time. But, if I had to pick just one piece of advice that has influenced me most, it would be the times when she told me this……
