The entire event is free and it’s a great reason to get outside, let the wind work its magic and enjoy the sights as the sky fills up with a rainbow of colorful kites.  Plus, they’ve added some new attractions to this year’s event…

If you don’t have a kite, don’t worry, you don’t need one. The Rotary club will be providing kites for families, free of charge. Plus, the new features this year include music and a DJ, lawn games, balloon animals, face painting and self guided nature walks. There will also be a raffle this year, with prizes like a family trip to Florida, children’s birthday party at Pinstripes and Cubs tickets.

You can learn more about the club, the Kite Fly and purchase raffle tickets online by clicking HERE.  The event is FREE, but raffle tickets cost $10 each.  The money raised from raffle ticket and food sales will pay for projects organized by local charities like Barrington Area Special Voices, a group that supports area children with special needs.

The fun starts at noon and will last until 3 p.m.  If it rains tomorrow, on May 14th, the event will be moved to Sunday, May 15th, from 1 to 4 p.m at Citizens Park.  You’ll find the park at 511 Lake Zurich Road in Barrington.
