The great and gritty voice of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong will be brought to life in Barrington Hills tomorrow night as the Sanfilippo Foundation hosts their third concert of the summer. The Sanfilippo family founded John B. Sanfilippo and Sons, Inc., the parent company of Fisher Nuts, and tomorrow’s show is the latest in a series of public concerts hosted at their private residence. Armstrong impersonator, M.L. Jordan, will be the featured performer and you can still purchase tickets online, but you have to act fast.
You’ll experience one of the greatest Jazz entertainers in history tomorrow night as singer M.L. Jordan takes you back to the 1920’s and 30’s nightclub scene where Louis Armstrong engaged with his audience directly and brought his music to life.
The Concerts are held in the Sanfilippo family’s fabulous Music Theater, which is a destination in and of itself. For a peek inside, read the post we wrote last year about the Summer Concert Series, which you’ll find by clicking HERE. They open the house up 90 minutes before the concert so guests may tour the family’s magnificent collection of beautifully restored antique music machines, phonographs, arcade and gambling machines, chandeliers and art glass. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the concert starts at 8, tickets cost $65 each and you can purchase them online through this evening by clicking HERE. To learn more about M.L. Jordan, he had an audience with Oprah! Here he is featured on her show:
There is also a fourth concert coming up this summer when Chicago Jazz Vocalist, Petra van Nuis, and her Recession Seven Band perform the jazz swing music of the Great Depression on the evening of Thursday, September 22nd.
If you have questions about the concert series, the property’s location or to make arrangements in person to purchase tickets for tomorrow night’s show, email Sanfilippo Foundation Director, Greg Leifel, at Info@PlaceDeLaMusique.org.
The Sanfilippo Foundation started hosting their Summer Concert Series last year so they can continue to offer the Estate and the Sanfilippo Collection to charities for fund raising purposes. In 2010, Charities utilizing the Estate raised more than $600,000 for their respective causes.
