It’s all straw and games tomorrow at the Village of Barrington’s annual Scarecrow Festival. There will be plenty of materials on hand to decorate an army of straw folks along with pumpkins for your doorstep. All are welcome to join the community and come check it out at Memorial Park.
The free festival will feature scarecrow, pumpkin and cookie decorating along with pony rides, games, a moonwalk and a slide for kids. Materials for scarecrows will be provided, but you can also bring your own clothing and accessories to personalize your creations.
Bob the DJ will be there to spook the crowd with his special costume and hill be spinning his favorite Halloween tunes. The Barrington Breakfast Rotary will be grilling food which you can purchase and Kaleidoscoops will be offering a sweet variety of ice creams and treats. Plus, staff from Barrington Community Child Care Center and Language Stars will be providing additional activities for kids.
The fun starts at 11 a.m. and will last until 2 p.m. Memorial Park is on Hough Street (Route 59) just south of Main Street (Lake Cook Road). For more information, visit the Village of Barrington website at Barrington-il.gov. This little community fest is big fun, so we hope to see you there!
