If you’d like to enjoy a FREE dinner with neighbors in Barrington, this month’s Community Meal is happening this week on Thursday, December 13th, 2012.
The Community Meal is a FREE meal hosted once a month at various churches and community centers in and around the Barrington area. All are welcome!
This Thursday’s meal is hosted by First Church of Christ Scientists and will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Greencastle Manor, the retirement housing community located at 445 East Main Street in Barrington.
They will be serving spaghetti, salad and homemade desserts. Food is donated by local businesses and desserts are homemade by community volunteers.
They will also be featuring live music at this week’s meal. Marge M. will perform during dinner.
And, there will be a poetry reading by Gretchen Friel, a Barrington High School teacher and Cary resident.
She’ll be reading excerpts from her book, titled Coffee Break for Quilters: A Patchwork of Original Poems.
Directions to Greencastle Manor:
Greencastle Manor is located on the corner of Main Street and Northwest Highway – next to the Dunkin Donuts.

What a phenomenal idea … I definitely would like to be involved! I am a member of Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club and so appreciate all-volunteer service initiatives.
I corrected my name & URL – difficult to read with white type on light background.
Elizabeth,
That’s great news! We would love to team up with the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club! If you can make it to the meal tonight, please say hello to our founder, Mary Sandner. Or, send us an email at thecommunitymealbarrington@gmail.com.
Thanks!
