Another gift to make our Great Gifts of Barrington holiday guide this year is something you’ll find at Grassroots, a rock-and-roll inspired Cook Street general store offering clothing and accessories for the whole family.
The owner of Grassroots, Todd Rhodes, says one great gift idea you’ll find at Grassroots this year is their one-of-a-kind cuff bracelets made out of vintage leather belts and actual historic markers.
“These are a great pick-me-up and I think they’re awesome. And at $39.50, they’re at a great price point that’s under $50 bucks. They’re all vintage and we have tons of varieties made with different historic markers that are part of American history with stories behind them. Some are keyholes that date back to the 1850’s, some are seat markers from the 1920’s, old locker tags, old dog tags and railroad tie markers dating back to the 1880’s Transatlantic Railroad.”
“They’re just very unique. There’s a gal named Bombshell Betty out of California that does them for us and they’re one of our best selling items in the store.”
You’ll find all kinds of cool accessories and clothing at Grassroots, along with shoes, skateboards, snacks and other miscellaneous items. So if you have someone that’s a hard person to find gifts for, Grassroots could be your answer.
They also have a special promotion going on through this weekend called “Come Break Our Balls” where they’ve set up a tree with ornaments you can break to reveal different options for discounts you can apply to your purchase.
You can reach Grassroots by phone at 847-842-6343, their address is 205 South Cook Street, you can CLICK HERE to find their Facebook page and you’ll find them online at GrassRootsBarrington.com.
My teenaged niece and nephews consider Grassroots “THE most awesome shop” – my stock went up majorly when I introduced them to this shopping gem!
