The Community Church of Barrington and others in the community are planning to light a candle on their porches between 7 and 9 p.m. tonight, Tuesday December 18th, in memory of the victims of last Friday’s school shooing in Newtown Connecticut.
It’s an idea started by a resident in Grayslake who spread the word about the lighted porch vigil via their community Patch website. Barrington’s Patch website is passing it on and asking us all to also spread the word. Community Church of Barrington posted the story on their Facebook page and others are following suit.
So if you see candles (flameless or real) lit on porches throughout Barrington tonight, they’re meant for us to pause and remember the innocent lives lost last week at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Thank you for spreading the word!
