For the first time ever, the organizers of Barrington Brew Fest are offering 100 early-admission VIP tickets for exclusive access to this weekend’s 10th annual event.

VIP ticket holders will be allowed special access to a separate serving area at the event where they’ll receive a passport to sample ten premium brews that are not part of the regular fest.  They’ll also be treated to a list of food & other perks, including early admission at 2:30, to avoid long lines at the entry.

If you’d rather not splurge on the VIP ticket option, you can’t go wrong with a general admission ticket.  This year’s Barrington Brew Fest promises all the ingredients for an afternoon of brews, food and fun!

McGonigal’s Pub is Brew Fest’s signature “Grand Brewmaster” sponsor and will be selling food at the fest.  Pub owner, Bryan McGonigal, says Brew Fest is a great way to discover new favorite craft beers and one of his favorite events of the year.  “I love beer.  And Brew Fest is a lot of like minded individuals coming together, trying different beers, talking about them and just having a wonderful day.”

They’re bringing back the classic rock of Brew Fest favorites Second Time Around. They’ll also feature the fest’s ever-popular bags tournament. There’s a 50/50 raffle. And this year, for the first time, they’re offering that special early-admission VIP ticket.

Best of all…

It’s all for a good cause! All proceeds from the Barrington Brew Fest benefit the Barrington Area Council on Aging. BACOA is the primary organization in the Barrington area that assists seniors and caregivers as they deal with issues related to aging. It provides activities, resources and programs and services that keep seniors safe, healthy and independent.

* BACOA’s Executive Director, Joyce Palmquist, says proceeds from Brew Fest account for a large portion of their annual budget which helps area seniors in so many ways. *

“We have our senior lunch program, we offer Meals with Wheels, we help people age 65 and older decide what Medicare program is best for them, we partner with AARP and we help seniors in our community who don’t have family nearby either stay in their homes or make decisions about alternative living situations to meet their needs and desires.

We also help caregivers of seniors or others living with a chronic illness.  You can call us and say, ‘My spouse just had a stroke and I need some help in the home’ or ‘My spouse or parent was just diagnosed with Alzheimers, what can I do?’

Together, Barrington Brew Fest and BACOA’s “Aged to Perfection” wine tasting event in September raise about $90,000 that goes into our operating budget.”
