Over 400 guests had a fabulous time at the Barrington Junior Women’s Club’s “la Parisienne Fashion Show and French Market” at the Stonegate Conference Center in Hoffman Estates Saturday. But five guests in particular walked away winning the top five very fun live auction prizes.
The luncheon started with a shopping event, with over 25 local retail vendors offering clothing, accessories and gift items for sale to help jump start the holiday shopping season.
Then, guests enjoyed great company over lunch as they bid on exciting live auction items in the dining room beautifully decorated with a distinctive French flair.
Models hit the runway wearing the latest trends in fashion featuring clothing from Barrington-area boutiques like Notice Accessories, Mia Sorella, One Girl, Star Couture and York Furriers.
Barrington Junior Women’s Club associate members modeled some of the fashions.
And many guests brought family and friends to what has become a favorite ladies outing and tradition during this last lull before the beginning of the busy holiday season.
Celebrity chef and Barrington native Jaime Laurita emceed the event with his partner Rich Lane and even modeled a look for Zazz Productions‘ runway show which included a great mix of new ways to combine colors, patterns and fabrics.
In an unexpected turn of events at the beginning of the luncheon, BJWC President Suzy Mogler won the Impact Raffle prize, a pearl and diamond ring donated by Long & Co. Jewelers in Barrington.
Not wanting to take a top prize, Suzy graciously gave the ring back to allow another guest to bid on and bring home the coveted piece.
The winner of that ring is the first of our FIVE BIG WINNERS at this year’s BJWC Fashion Show, staring with Kristina Trzaska who offered the winning bid on the Long & Company pearl and diamond ring.
Next, we have Doreen Colletti-Muhs who took home the fur coat donated by York Furrier for Saturday’s auction.
Amy Graves of Barrington won with her bid on FREE JIMMY JOHNS for a YEAR!
Guest JoAnn Ballard of Prospect Heights bid on and won a private, French dining experience for eight at L’Eiffel Bistrot in South Barrington.
And Oksana Keaton won a trip to Turks & Caicos including two First Class plane tickets!
BJWC President Suzy Mogler says she is so appreciative of the many volunteers and business owners who pitched in to make this year’s event a huge success. “It was about six months of work and so many people beyond Juniors helped out. From those who donated our auction items to the Barrington Flower Shop who gave us the flowers to the help with decor offered by Tru Bleu Boutique and Kathleen McLaughlin Events, the generosity of the people who helped put this together all on volunteer time is really what blows me away.”
Proceeds from the annual Barrington Junior Women’s Club fall fashion show will be donated to the 20 local charities that the BJWC supports including, Barrington Youth and Family Services, Barrington Giving Day, Wellness Place, WINGS, scholarships for Barrington High School seniors and more.
