Fees

The fee to participate is $35 for the 5K registration alone with no snowshoe rental. If you want to participate in the 5K race plus you need to rent snowshoes, the cost to register is $45.

The Cause

Smart Farm of Barrington is a local 501c3 non profit organization working to cultivate a healthy community by providing educational opportunities focused on sustainable gardening techniques, promoting the benefits of sustainable gardening and donating fresh produce to local food pantries to support our neighbors in need.

The Course

The 5K course is located at Citizens Park, 511 Lake Zurich Road in Barrington. The course will consist of an open field start to spread the racers out. Then, it will narrow into meandering prairie and wooded trails looping back to the start. All that’s needed is Mother Nature to cooperate with the snow.

Snowshoe Rental

Rental snowshoes are limited. Once the rentals are gone, you must be responsible for providing your own snowshoes to participate in the race. Early registration is recommended.

In Case of No Snow/Minimal Snow

If there is no snow or minimal snow, the race will become a 5K run on the same course or a similar course. Snowshoe fees will be refunded if necessary or you may request to have your fee donated to the Smart Farm. No race registration fees will be refunded.
