The Barrington Area Chamber Commerce is hosting its First Annual Dinner Gala and Silent Auction celebrating the Barrington business community coming up on Thursday, January 30th. It’s the Chamber’s first new signature event since Suzanne Corr was hired as Chamber President in August of 2013.
Chamber members and their guests are invited to attend what is shaping up to be a fun and social evening celebrating Barrington businesses and the local economy at the start of a new year.
Suzanne Corr says, in addition to a silent auction with many enticing items available, the program for the evening will include “Volunteer of the Year”, “Business Excellence”, “Distinguished Service” and “Rookie of the Year” awards given to specific individuals or businesses involved with the Chamber.
“I think it’s very important for the Chamber to have an opportunity to gather our members and their guests together and celebrate what they’ve done, where they’ve been and where they’re going because every year there are new challenges, new opportunities and new things you bring to the table.”
Suzanne says they have big plans on the horizon to benefit Chamber members in 2014.
“In 2014 we are focusing on R & R, restaurants and retail, and what we can do to add another level of promotion and awareness. We are adding more professional development programs and resources that help our members succeed. We just kicked off a new Brown Bag lunch & learn series and are working on a Small Business Tool Kit. We are dedicated to being Partners in Prosperity.”
The Chamber’s First Annual Dinner Gala & Silent Auction will take place at Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre, 2401 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates. The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner buffet at 7, awards at 8 and the silent auction will close at 9 p.m. The cost is $50 per Chamber member and $95 for Chamber members and a guest, $60 for non-members.
Silent auction items include breakfast with a policeman and ride to school in a squad car, a Porsche for a weekend, jewelry, vacation and overnight stays, a day of golf at Wynstone, personal services, gift baskets, a park district 2014 family pool pass, sports tickets, full-page newspaper ad, in-home wine tastings, fitness club memberships, gift cards and more!
