Barrington Junior Women’s Club members donned their best disco duds and raised over $15,000 during Saturday’s Get Groovin’ Get Givin’ retro-themed spring social event at Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington. And, judging by the photos, it was a party that will definitely go down in the memory books!

Christy Origer, one of the co-chairs behind Get Groovin’ Get Givin’ says, with about 125 guests dressed for the dance floor, this year’s event was a huge success!
“Attendees really got into the 70’s theme and it was fun to see everyone’s interpretations of that era.”

“There were go go boots, pantsuits, wide legged jeans, floppy hats and even a few members on roller skates!”

“The DJ played 70’s style disco music and Biltmore chefs served delicious food.”

“The best part is that all of the Barrington Junior Women’s Club fundraising efforts go towards various community causes including Barrington Youth and Family Services, Barrington Giving Day, Wellness Place, WINGS, scholarships for Barrington High School seniors and more.”

Christy Origer also says they are currently accepting applications for the 2014 grant process for any local organizations or groups who would like to apply on their website at bjwc.org.
Barrington Junior Women’s Club photographer, Liz Benedetto captured hundreds of priceless images at the BJWC’s Get Groovin’ Get Giving’ Fashion Show which you’ll find on her website at Elizabeth-Ashby.com. But we couldn’t resist creating a slideshow of Liz’s images here to give you an even better idea of how much fun the ladies of the BJWC have while raising money for great causes in Barrington!
