Here’s a peek at the range of stories you’ll find inside this week’s issue, according to Barrington Suburban Life reporter, Tarah Thorne…
Library renovations are complete
After 14 months of construction and $8.5 million in updates, the Barrington Area Library is a whole new world. Learn all about the brand new features in this week’s paper – improved meeting rooms, comfortable furniture, high-tech children’s activities and an upper-story business lounge.
Finally, fire aid
Residents asked and trustees have delivered – the Barrington Fire Department (village-owned) and the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District have agreed to an automatic aid contract after splitting into two entities Jan. 1. Dig up the details in Barrington Suburban Life.
Beer with a buzz (cut)
There’s a store downtown Barrington that continues to expand its services – Grassroots. Making use of their in-store bar, Grassroots now has a barber shop. Patrons can enjoy a cold brew and a clean cut.
Memory care center builds community
Autumn Leaves is wrapping up construction in South Barrington, just a block from the Arboretum shopping center. The $11.1 million memory care community is filling quickly, hosting up to 45 residents of any age. Unique to this center is a vigil system which can detect any unexpected movement at any time of day. Autumn Leaves staff said this is important since all residents have either an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis upon arrival.
