For this week’s Menu Monday feature, we’re joining Egg Harbor Cafe in celebrating Dr. Seuss’ 111th birthday. One hundred and eleven years ago today, beloved children’s author and illustrator Theodor Seuss Geisel (a.k.a. “Dr. Seuss”) was born. Did you know that you can order a dish in honor of Dr. Seuss any day in Barrington? That’s right, Green Eggs and Ham, inspired by Dr. Seuss’ book by that name, can be found on Egg Harbor’s kids’ menu throughout the year.
Here’s how Egg Harbor describes this colorful dish:
Green Eggs and Ham
Freshly diced ham scrambled into two green eggs served with potatoes and half an English muffin (they really are green) $4.29
All of the kids’ menu meals at Egg Harbor also come with a children’s beverage of your choice.
It may be Dr. Seuss’ birthday today, but Egg Harbor’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Wendy Mospan says Green Eggs & Ham is one of their most popular kids’ menu items year-round.
“It’s just a really fun menu choice for kids because it reminds them of an all-time favorite story and they keep ordering Green Eggs and Ham because it tastes great.”
“We’re always keeping our kids’ menu updated with a variety of perennial favorites and we love to try new things, too. Plus, the kids’ menu itself features games and an egg drawing contest and we have crayons on every table so children can color and have fun while they’re waiting for their meal.”
