Home Newsroom 62. Bevello Styles “Desk to Dinner” Looks for Spring at Deer Park Town Center

With the countdown to spring break underway and puddles of melting snow a welcome reminder of warmer days ahead, we’ve been busy shopping for the new season at Deer Park Town Center.  To show you what’s hot in apparel, accessories and footwear for spring, we visited with the managers of four separate stores for our 2015 Deer Park Town Center Spring Style series.  We’re starting with Bevello, where store manager and stylist Jaymie Dixon says their mission is “to empower women and make them look beautiful.”

As we daydream about spring break and rising temperatures, Jaymie says Bevello is receiving new products daily in a refreshing array of bright colors and lightweight fabrics.  “It really feels like spring over here. Right now it’s all about floral prints, spring dresses, rompers and pastels in lavender, teal, pink, blue and yellow.”

Jaymie says Bevello is big on the “Desk to Dinner” concept, where the items you wear during the day can easily be dressed up or down for the evening. And she says, whether you’re packing for spring break or taking a look from day-to-night, it’s key to find pieces with versatility.  “All you need are a few layering pieces and accessories to give your daytime outfit a whole new look at night.”

To show us how to create a “Desk to Dinner” wardrobe Karley, Full Time Manager at Bevello, modeled two new spring looks that you can wear to work, dress down at night and pack for your next vacation.  For the first look, Karly is wearing Sanctuary’s Village Shirt Dress in Safari, Kendra Scott earrings and a pair of her favorite brown leather boots. She says, for this look, you could choose boots, heels or any shoe depending on the season.

To make the look more casual, Karley opened up the dress, wearing it as a cardigan over a graphic tee by Chicago-based Casual Friday and a pair of Hudson Krista Super Skinny jeans in Bombshell.

BCBGeneration’s Floral Pleat Dress is the centerpiece of Bevello’s second “Desk to Dinner” look.  Karley shows us how the dress doubles as an outfit for the office when paired with the Lavender Olivaceous Crop Top worn on top, Charles David’s Alabama wedge sandals, a Kendra Scott necklace and GiGi New York’s embossed python clutch.

The look is totally transformed for a night out when Karley sheds the crop top, adding a statement necklace and lightweight ombre scarf from Bevello’s extensive and stylish selection.

“Perhaps the most hurtful impact of the stigma surrounding mental illness is the common belief that women with mental illness cannot be good mothers. In a society that values ‘self-sacrificing mothers’ and rewards adherence to gender norms, we often deem that a ‘good mother’ has few needs and challenges of her own; rather, she can commit herself in her entirety to her children.

Mental illness can certainly make some aspects of motherhood more challenging, but it doesn’t disqualify those of us living with a mental health condition from being good parents. In fact, research suggests that many issues faced by mothers with mental illness are generic to all parents. While mothers with mental illness may experience more unique challenges from their symptoms, or from medication and treatment obligations, these risks can be managed with the guidance of a good collaborative care team.”
