Has this wonderfully warm weather inspired you to do some spring cleaning? If so, you’re in luck: Today, Saturday, April 18, Prairie Middle School’s PTO will host a Recycling Drive-Thru to help area residents clear their closets, drawers, and garages of unwanted items. The event, which will take place at Prairie Middle School from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., will offer attendees an easy way to dispose of electronics, textiles, and styrofoam.
Prairie Middle School’s PTO has joined forces with Prairieland Disposal, Chicago Textile Recycling and Chicago Logistic Service to offer these free recycling services. (Note that there is a fee of $35 to dispose of televisions.)
The event’s organizer, Jennifer Kainz, says that she “hopes this will provide an easy way for people to recycle waste that would otherwise end up in a landfill.” If this year’s inaugural event is successful, Jennifer hopes to offer additional recycling opportunities in the future.
All you need to do is load up your car with items you’d like to recycle, and head on over to Prairie Middle School at 40 Dundee Rd. Volunteers will be waiting to take your items – you don’t even have to get out of the car!
Happy spring cleaning!
