When it comes to planning weddings, Barrington Event Planner Christina Currie says no two brides are alike. I’ve experienced that personally this year with my cousin’s New Orleans jazz-infused wedding in the French Quarter last weekend and my sister’s more formal Valentine’s Day wedding in wintery Chicago.

Christina Currie and her team have worked with countless brides over the years. She says some of the most memorable weddings include details that highlight each couple’s unique tastes and personalities. Bringing those touches of personality to the table is one of the things Christina does best. She is in the midst of peak wedding season here in Barrington and says many of her brides are adding their own twist to three wedding trends which she showcased at her 2015 Grace Meets Glamour boutique bridal affair. We caught up with Christina Currie Event Designer, Masumi Amin, for an inside look at Grace Meets Glamour.

Though each couple is different, these are the three wedding styles Christina says many of this year’s brides are falling head-over-heels for:

Pure Romance

“These are the brides who are very romantic and love a bit of glamour. It’s subtly done so it’s not over the top for the girl who enjoys a classic love story, vintage elements and a little touch of bling.”

Rustic Romance

“A ‘Rustic Romance’ theme is a more relaxed celebration, but still feels like a wedding. Sitting at a chic farm table with fresh flowers and glowing candles creates an organic space allowing for fun options with menus and farm-fresh produce at the table that everyone is looking for in their dishes.

Seaside Romance

“So many people would love to have a destination wedding but worry about family being unable to attend. For those brides, we bring the beach to Chicago. Right into the venues, we incorporate the nautical details such as rope, sand, globe lanterns and a menu to match.”
