How does Barrington celebrate the “unofficial” start of summer vacation season? With the Barrington Art Festival which happens each year over Memorial Day Weekend! Get ready because the 9th Annual art fest is coming up on May 26th and 27th along Cook and Station Streets in downtown Barrington.
Free and open to the public, the Barrington Art Festival will showcase the work of more than 130-juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, sculpture and more. In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase, attendees will interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. Live music, kid-friendly activities, such as the hands together mural, and epicurean delights also will be available for visitors to enjoy.
The festival will feature a “Community Art Mural” and winners from the local photography contest. In addition, proceeds from the event’s Green Ribbon project will benefit Barrington’s White House.
While you’r at the fest, don’t forget to shop the stores surrounding the artists. Local merchants will be open and featuring some of the season’s hottest merchandise. PLUS, Village of Barrington restaurants welcome all to pop in for refreshing drinks, appetizers, lunch, dinner and fun with friends. With sunshine in this weekend’s forecast, downtown Barrington will be buzzing!
