Warm, sunny days are in the forecast for Citizens for Conservation’s annual Public Plant Sale coming up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 4th & 5th. The sale will take place at 459 West Hwy. 22, Lake Barrington, in the barn area east of Good Shepherd Hospital. Here’s what they’ll have available, carefully selected and just right for your home and garden.

Each spring, CFC’s sale offers homeowners more than 18,000 native plants and 225 native species known to thrive in our area. That includes thousands of milkweed plants, part of CFC’s “Milkweed for Monarchs” campaign. Gardeners  value the sale both for the abundant supply of hard-to-find native plants and for the information on planting and care shared by CFC volunteers. The sale has been so successful that CFC now offers a native tree and shrub sale in the fall as well.
