On this day, January 23rd in 1988, The California Raisins’ Motown Classic “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” peaks at #84 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for Motown Records, the song was first recorded by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles in 1966, released a single by Gladys Knight and the Pips in 1967 followed by Marvin Gaye’s version in 1968. Remember when “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” got new life in 1987, when it was used in commercials for California Raisins, with claymation raisins performing the song?

Because I’m on sort of a Creedence Clearwater Revival kick, I thought I’d also share their version, first recorded for their 1970 album, Cosmo’s Factory, ultimately reaching 43 on Billboard’s chart. I could listen to this version on repeat!

Huge congrats to everyone—this was one of the most fun and competitive Opens we’ve had.
🌟 Spirit of the Open
Lucas Gaete – Our youngest competitor (14!) who stepped way outside his comfort zone, took on heavier weights, and showed up for all 3 Friday Night Lights.
Anna Dix – Showed up big—completing all workouts at Friday Night Lights AND going RX for all 3 WODs.

Week 2 of the CFB Intramural Open is officially in the books and 26.2 did not disappoint. This one tested everything — grip, lungs, pacing, and a little bit of grit when those pull-ups started getting spicy. The gym was loud, the efforts were huge, and we saw some awesome breakthroughs!

Try roasting cauliflower for a crunchier, crispy texture that actually makes veggies exciting 🤍
🥦 Crispy Roasted Cauliflower
Ingredients
• 1 head cauliflower
• 2 teaspoons coconut oil
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 450° and chop cauliflower into small bites (about golf-ball size).
2. Add all ingredients to a large bowl and toss until evenly coated.
3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread cauliflower out evenly.
4. Bake for 10 minutes, stir, then bake another 10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
5. Serve warm and enjoy 😍
