On this day, March 12 in 1994, Swedish group Ace Of Base started a six week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with techno-reggae pop ballad, ‘The Sign’, a No.2 hit in the UK. On this day back in 1994, Ace of Base techno-reggae pop ballad, “The Sign” topped the Billboard Hot 100 List making Ace of Base the first Swedish band to to simultaneously score a number one single & album on the Billboard charts. It also won the 1995 Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group. The song is about a breakup but I love its message about looking for people, paths and signs that point toward “the light where you belong”.

Find your fellow trotters at the Citizens Park Pavilion parking lot by the entrance to Cuba Marsh at 10am this Thursday morning. Join friends & family to support Barrington Giving Day, a non-profit serving the Barrington community for over 80 years!
