Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) is grateful to see that our mission has made an impact in our community and we look forward to expanding our role more this year!

Why join BAVC?

BAVC works with over 90 nonprofits in the area and has volunteer opportunities to fit any interest, time commitment, and is for ages 13 and up. We invite you to check out our website and create your own profile at thebavc.org — It’s simple and takes just a few minutes!

Fandom Fest Volunteers needed!

Barrington Area Library is looking for volunteers to help with their fun-filled Fandom Fest event on Saturday, March 4th from 11 AM – 4 PM. Fandom Fest is a large scale comic con event that the library holds annually. This fun event has an artist alley, lost of cos-players, crafts, photo ops, swag, live music, and other fun activities for all ages!

Volunteers are need in several different roles ….. greeters, photographers/videographers, line managers, and craft assistants – to help make this community event a success.

Valentine Cards for Make a Senior Smile Program

Are you able to write a letter or create a card? Then this simple program is an easy way to help make a difference in our community! Elderwerks is collecting cards to distribute to local seniors to help put a smile on their face. Valentine’s Day cards can be submitted until February 3rd.

Create the cards and/or letters at home and once your creations are complete, please either drop off or mail to:

Volunteer at the Shamrock Beer Run 5K & Brewfest 2023!

The Epic Shamrock Beer Run 5k is back for another year, and Shelter, Inc. needs your help to make it happen. Help out at the Shelter table at the race’s turnaround point & join in on the fun all in support of a good cause.

(Must be 21 years old or older to participate.)

Help with BACOA’s ‘A Day Out’ Program!

Work with the volunteer team to assist the Memory Program Manager in providing fun and engaging activities at the “A Day Out” Adult Day Program. This important program is held in Barrington on Mondays and/or Thursdays 9:30 am -2:45 pm.
