When it comes to hosting celebrations that make a lasting impression, Barrington event planner, Christina Currie, has more than a few secrets up her sleeve. From weddings to graduation parties to gatherings that celebrate a special person or milestone, Christina says these days her clients are all about unique touches.”People are looking to add their own name to their events so it’s not copied from Pinterest, Facebook or the latest wedding magazine.” And Christina says a little “wow” goes a long way when you can captivate guests while turning your event into an actual work of art.
Here are three of the many vendors Christina’s clients can’t get enough of and how they’re helping commemorate our life’s celebrations……
Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day coming up this Friday and Barrington event planner, Christina Currie says there will be no shortage of “true romance” on display in the weddings of 2014. Christina will be showcasing some of the hottest trends in weddings during Grace Meets Glamour, her 4th annual boutique bridal show coming up on February 23rd at Biltmore Country Club. Attendance is limited to 75 brides and their guests but there’s still space available to meet Christina and visit with her favorite local wedding vendors during this intimate and elegant afternoon affair.
We asked Christina to share a list of wedding trends on the horizon for 2014. She broke it down to a list of five popular themes that this year’s brides-to-be can’t seem to get enough of…
1. Romantic Colors
“This year, the wedding trend is all about true romance. The brides are looking to colors like blush with soft pinks, nudes, and peach. Brides are bringing back peony and garden roses, which are very romantic. Garlands of floral and ferns across the head table will be a big trend this year.”
2. Dainty Invites
“Invitations are going smaller than 5×7. The dainty look is back. Invitations will also take it to another level by incorporating artwork designed or provided by the bride and groom, especially buildings or church structures.”…
With the new wedding engagements that come with each holiday season, a bevy of new brides-to-be are busy lining up locations and vendors for their upcoming “I-Do’s”. Barrington event planner, Christina Currie, knows how overwhelming the process can be so she’s found a way to make it special by keeping it simple. Christina is hosting her 4th annual Grace Meets Glamour Boutique Bridal Affair at Biltmore Country Club coming up on Sunday, February 23rd, where brides can meet a select group of the area’s finest wedding vendors in an elegant setting, all under one roof.
With Grace Meets Glamour, Christina works hard to create a fantastic opportunity to connect brides with vendors while being treated to an afternoon where they get to truly shine. Champagne and hors d’ouevres will be served during the event to celebrate the brides in attendance. There will be a fashion show, live music, wedding cakes, floral and decor ideas, swag bags for brides and special touches throughout, but Christina Currie says the magic begins at the entrance.
“When they arrive at Biltmore there’s valet parking and ice sculptures at the entrance. Each bride gets a pearl necklace when they come so we know who is the bride. Most of my clients prefer a more customized and personalized approach so the show is very laid back.”
Christina also says she purposefully limits the number attendees to 75 brides and their guests……
