I may be sitting at my desk, but now that we’ve seen some of the first beautiful days of spring, I find my mind is wandering. I’m thinking about being outside, planting flowers, digging up stray tulip bulbs and the fact that it’s time, once again, to cut the grass. If you’re mind is in the garden, you’ll find plenty of new treasures this weekend at the Barrington Antique and Garden Show at the Ice House Mall.
The second annual “Antique and Garden Show” is open today through Sunday. Dozens of antique vendors from around Chicagoland have brought their goodies and set up shop at the Ice House for the weekend. You’ll find a great selection of antique furniture, artwork, dishes, clocks and pieces for your garden along with great specials at the mall’s resident shops.
The Antique show runs today from 9:30AM until 7PM, tomorrow and Saturday from 9:30 until 5:30 and Sunday from Noon until 4PM. The antiques vendors and shop owners will be giving a portion of their proceeds to benefit Hospice of Northesatern Illinois, the business behind the new Pepper Family Hospice Home opening on Lake Zurich Road by Citizens Park this July.
For more information, call the Ice House Mall at 847-381-6661 or visit their website at IceHouseMall.com. I also want to make a special shoutout to the presenters of the show, Tivoli Garden Antiques at 107 E. Main Street in Barrington. If you want to check out the Antique and Garden Show this weekend and you’ve never been to the Ice House, just punch 200 Applebee Street into the old GPS and head on down to the show. There’s plenty of parking and so many special items just waiting to find their new homes.
