If you feel like hearing a little live music in Barrington tonight, head on over to McGonigal’s Pub. Hudson-McCoy will be taking the stage at 9:30. The band’s website sums the group up by saying, “Your classic rock and R & B favorites performed by musicians who were there”, but fans have been known to describe them as “ZZ Top Meets The Grateful Dead”. Rhythm guitarist, Mike McCoy says their emphasis on vocals is what makes them unique.
Three of the group’s four members will be in concert on the main floor at McGonigal’s tonight. Mike McCoy will be joined by lead guitarist, Jim Hudson and bassist Joe Lassala (that’s Joe channeling ZZ Top in the band logo above). They’ll play from 9:30 until about 1AM. If you have a taste for a little Steely Dan or Lynyrd Skynyrd or perhaps some great McGonigal’s Pub food, come check them out. You can read more about the group at their website, Hudson-McCoy.com. And you can keep up with all of the latest concerts planned at the pub by visiting McGonigalsPub.com.
And speaking of McGonigal’s, they’re planning a season full of NFL and college football specials every Saturday and Sunday during games. And, starting today, they’re offering two new beers on tap, Founders IPA and Delirium Tremens.
