The spotlight is on small businesses today, dubbed “Small Business Saturday” by American Express. The credit card company offered a $25 statement credit for members who used their cards to make purchases at small businesses today. But did you know the Village of Barrington has also created a special new incentive for people to shop at small businesses here in Barrington? It’s a contest called the “Celebrate Barrington Holiday Sweepstakes”, it’s easy to enter and the prizes could help you put more presents under the tree.
Here’s how it works…
If you make a purchase at a store or restaurant in Barrington between now and December 13th, you’ll get a sweepstakes entry card that you fill out with your name and contact information. If the purchase is made at a participating shop or restaurant, you can leave the card with the merchant who will enter it into the contest for you. If your purchase is made at a Barrington Village business that’s not participating in the holiday sweepstakes, all you have to do is bring your receipt to the Barrington Village Hall at 200 South Hough Street to fill out and enter your card in the contest. Here’s a look at the prizes:
- Grand Prize – 1 Winner$500.00 in Barrington Shopping Dollars
- Second Prizes – 2 Winners$250.00 in Barrington Shopping Dollars
- Third Prize – 15 Winners$100.00 in Barrington Shopping Dollars
Sweepstakes organizers say, “Our goal is to do something out of the ordinary this season and also to do something special for our shoppers” You’ll find a list of participating merchants on the Village website by clicking HERE.
