With scarecrows decorating businesses throughout Barrington, we can’t help but reintroduce Spot the Scarecrow, the fall version of our weekly mystery photo contest here at 365Barrington.com. The first photo of our series is one of the many straw creations designed for the Village of Barrington’s annual Scarecrow Contest. This guy is dressed up as an artist and you’ll spot him if you’re whizzing by on a pretty busy street in town. Can you guess where he is?
And just in case this tight shot’s too tricky, here’s a more revealing look. His artwork is quite impressive for a man made of straw and the buildings in the background might give it away. But if you can’t think of where he is now, keep looking around town and I bet you’ll find him. You have a week to submit your guesses.
The winner of this week’s contest will receive a cool prize that has something to do with the spot where we took the picture. That might have some of you scratching your heads, but you’ll find out next week ;). Entering the contest is easy and you’ll find the steps below. You’re right, the closeup of the big bucked teeth grin is the smile you’ll find on “Happy Jack”, the giant pumpkin on the silo outside Goebbert’s Pumpkin Farm and Garden Center in South Barrington. Jackie will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend at Goebberts for winning our contest. The tough part’s going to be choosing what to purchase!
Goebbert’s Fall Festival is in full swing. You can visit Goebbert’s through Halloween to let your kids feed a giraffe at eye level, see over 50 live animal displays, for pig racing, pony rides, camel rides, a corn stalk maze, wagon rides and all of the pumpkins, fall produce, caramel apples, fresh apple cider donuts and Michigan Apples you can squeeze in your car.
