Let Heinen's Prepare Your Thanksgiving Dinner

Have you ever wished there was a Thanksgiving genie you could call upon to fill your table with fabulous Thanksgiving food? Your wish is granted this year by Heinen’s Fine Foods in Barrington. The premium prepared foods department at Heinen’s goes one step further at Thanksgiving, and offers you any and every course you choose, made to order. Order just a turkey breast, or a full blown meal including dessert and wine, and it will be waiting for you to pickup up until the day before Thanksgiving at 8:30 p.m. at the store.

The selection of options is wide. Let’s start with the main course, and talk turkey, turkey turkey. Heinen’s knows from experience that there are customers that want fresh organic turkeys, others that want Butterball frozen, and some that just want turkey breasts.

Bowman & Landes Turkeys

They offer all of those options and more in various weights and sizes.

Their fresh turkey selections come from Bowman & Landes, who for years have provided Heinen’s with Ohio-raised gourmet free range turkeys.

Heinen’s owner, Tom Heinen says these turkeys will be the star of your Thanksgiving table.  “We think Bowman & Landes is the best turkey.  It’s all natural, free range, antibiotic-free turkey and they’re our favorite.”

These and another favorite Heinen’s brand, Amish Farms, will be available fresh.

There will also be Honeysuckle and Butterball frozen turkeys in the store, and bone-in or boneless breasts at the butcher or cooler case.

And if you’re not up for cooking?  No problem.

Heinen’s will even cook your turkey for you.  All you have to do is arrange cooking and pickup directions with an associate in their Prepared Foods department.

Whatever your needs may be, Tom Heinen says they have you covered.  “Our selection of all sizes of turkeys will give every customer a great choice of turkeys at a competitive price. Also, our produce is fresh from the market every day and our pumpkin pie is a Cleveland Classic.”

And there’s plenty more where this perfect piece of pie came from…

Sweet Potato Casserole

In addition à la carte ordering, there is a complete cooked dinner you can order per person, that includes turkey, herb-roasted garlic potatoes or mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole or fresh candied yams, crouton stuffing, homemade turkey gravy, green bean casserole, homemade cranberry relish, dinner rolls, butter and pie, for $14.99/person – minimum of 10 people.

Helpful Tip:  Cooked dinner orders need to be placed before November 15.

And their extensive wine and spirits selection will help round out your order. Carol Hornick, one of the wine consultants at Heinen’s in Barrington, weighed in on her perfect turkey pairings, telling us “I recommend a pinot noir that complements the fruit while not competing with the turkey, such as A-Z from Oregon or Carmanet, or a nice Riesling that is on the dry side, such as our selections from Alsace.”

To place your Thanksgiving order, contact Heinen’s deli counter at 847-381-1332.

If you need assistance formulating your menu, someone there will be happy to help.

When picking up your order, head toward the deli counter and follow the signs for Thanksgiving order pickup. There will be a crossing guard at the entrance to the strip mall starting on Sunday, and lasting all through the last pickups at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21.

And, when your guests rave about your holiday dishes this year, just tell them they can thank your new Thanksgiving genie for the feast.  (wink, wink)  Don’t worry.  Your secret’s safe with me.
