Students at Barrington Middle School’s Prairie Campus are holding their final dress rehearsals before this Thursday’s opening night of the school’s 2013 spring musical, The Little Mermaid Jr.
Over 80 students are participating as members of The Little Mermaid Jr. cast and crew. It’s the familiar story of a fun-loving young mermaid, Ariel, who longs to leave her ocean home in a magical kingdom beneath the sea to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice.
Parents, like Terri Longo, who have been there for rehearsals say, “The student cast and crew are hard at work preparing a fabulous show for all ages. The students will transport the audience under the sea with colorful costumes and sets. The talented cast and crew bring the tale of The Little Mermaid to life with familiar songs and lively dances.”
The Little Mermaid Jr. performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. this Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, April 18 – 20. And there’s a 2 p.m. matinée on Sunday. All performances are at Barrington Middle School – Prairie Campus, at 40 East Dundee Road in Barrington.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. To see the show, CLICK HERE to secure your tickets in advance with the district’s new email ticketing service and, for more information, visit the school’s website at Barrington220.org/Prairie.
