A champion has been crowned in Meathead’s BHS burger eating challenge from Monday night, but the contest is just beginning. Their month-long Burger Battle is officially underway, with Meatheads’ menu now featuring two signature burgers designed by both teams in this competition. The Barrington High School Cheerleaders’ burger is called “The Billy” and the BHS Football Players burger is called “The Bronco”. Whichever team sells the most of their burgers between now and Sepember 22nd is the winner and we’ll be monitoring our reader favorites throughout the contest here at 365Barrington.com.
Meatheads will be tracking the sales of the “Bronco” and “Billy” burgers and they’ll donate 10% of the sales of each burger back to the organization at the end of the contest.
That means we all play a role in this Burger Battle. If we buy as many “Bronco” and “Billy” burgers as possible this month, that’ll increase the sum Meatheads will donate back to BHS. The actual winner will be determined by burger sales, but we’ve set up a poll to follow our readers’ favorite burgers. You can enter your vote via this poll which you’ll find in the sidebar at 365Barrington.com through the end of the contest.
Now for more of the juicy details and a closer look at the special burgers being offered in this contest…
“The Bronco” or the football players’ burger is made with 1/3 lb Certified Angus Beef, American cheese, bacon, cajun fries, ketchup, lettuce and grilled onion.
The cheerleaders’ burger is called “The Billy Burger” with 1/3 lb Certified Angus Beef, provolone cheese, bacon, Ketchapeño (a gourmet spicy ketchup), buffalo ranch, lettuce and raw onion.
The new Billy & Bronco burgers were both a big hit with the crowd at Meathead’s burger eating contest on Monday night, kicking off the month-long competition.
BHS Football players faced the cheerleaders to see who could eat one pound of burgers the fastest…
Edwin Lee, a BHS junior and defensive lineman on the team took home the title, swallowing three 1/3rd pound burgers in 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
In addition to Fastest Burger Eater, the award for Slowest Burger Eater went to BHS senior on the varsity cheerleading squad, Kathleen Berry.
The award for Sloppiest Eater went to BHS Senior, Vito Anzalone.
And the award for Most Creative Eater went to Taylor Renshaw, a BHS senior on the varsity football team.
So be sure to support our BHS football players and cheerleaders this month by visiting Meatheads and ordering your own Billy & Bronco burgers. The more burgers we eat, the bigger their prize will be, courtesy of Meaheads Barrington!
You’ll find Meatheads at 500 N. Hough Street in Barrington, right next door to Heinen’s at the Shops at Flint Creek.
