I just got my hands on a copy of Shaw Media’s latest Barrington Life newspaper, which arrives in our mailboxes every Thursday. The cover story focuses on Paul Launer and his young family’s latest efforts to raise money and find a cure for ALS, the disease he was diagnosed with in 2011.
The Launer’s story is one of many features you’ll find in this week’s Barrington Life. Here’s a snapshot of some of the highlights in this week’s issue, according to the paper’s editor, Dan McCaleb…
After husband/father Paul Launer of Barrington was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), he and his family decided to raise awareness about the terminal disease, and raise money to help find a cure. Among other things, they’ve put together a team for the Les Turner ALS Walk4Life scheduled for Sept. 22. And this past weekend, they got some surprising news from Pat and Vince Foglia, president and CEO of Sage Products in Cary. The Foglias have committed to match up to $20,000 raised by Launer’s team.
