Roslyn Road Elementary students give back in Thanksgiving spirit
Learn how several fifth grade service volunteers braved a cold school-day morning to collect canned goods for the Cuba Township Food Pantry – a service that did not go unnoticed. CTFP Liaison Kate Formichella told Barrington Suburban Life reporter Tarah Thorne shares more about how the food pantry is low on funds this year and exactly what is required to provide holiday baskets to over 80 local families in need.

Get to know Kaeli O’Connor, art student
Ever wonder who created the clever posters for The Catlow theater’s Kickstarter project? Kaeli is theater-owner Tim O’Connor’s niece, who is now sharing more about her interest in illustration and lending some insight as to what it’s like to grow up with the historical theater so close to heart.

London calling
BHS band members are traveling overseas for their greatest performance yet – The 2014 London New Year’s Parade and subsequent concert festival. This week’s paper has all the details which include everything from an official invite presented to BHS by the former Lord Mayor of Westminster and great grandson of Winston Churchill, Duncan Sandys, to how the students are going to prepare for this world renowned event!.

BHS swimmer shatters state record
BHS sophomore Kirsten Jacobsen broke a state record in the finals of the girls swimming state meet on Saturday – a meet that was hosted in the pool of one of BHS’ toughest competitors, New Trier. Jacobsen told Barrington Suburban Life reporter Tarah Thorne more about the unexpected achievement that has left her still feeling shocked.
