The fourth annual Barrington Honor Ride and Run starts at Citizens Park bright and early this Sunday, August 17th. The uplifting event is for bikers and runners of all ages plus spectators seeking ways to support our veterans and healing heroes. This year, the Honor Ride is combined with the Barrington Village’s “Bike Barrington” community kids’ bike ride so organizers are expecting a huge turnout tomorrow.
Funds raised support Ride 2 Recovery, a nonprofit organization that equips wounded veterans with bikes customized to accommodate their injuries. The organization also offers training and hosts rides for physical and mental benefits that impact veterans’ lives forever.
The ride features a 20, 30 and 45 mile bike ride plus a 5k and 10k run within and around the Barrington area. A beautiful opening ceremony, where we recognize and honor those to whom we all owe so much begins the day, followed by the ride and run. Kids obstacle course, live music, food and drink rounds out this family friendly and inspiring day!
On-site registration is available tomorrow – OR – you can still pick up your packets at Barrington Running Company (133 Park Avenue) before 4 p.m. today! The cost to participate is $60 for the ride, $45 for the run and $15 for the obstacle course. Kids ride FREE. The event starts at Citizens Park (511 Lake Zurich Road) in Barrington and all are welcome!

9:30 a.m. – Obstacle Course
9:30 a.m. – Kids Ride
