One of the first businesses to open its doors in the new Barrington Village Center is getting into the Homecoming spirit! The new 18|8 Men’s Salon is hosting our first Homecoming Proposal Photo Contest here at 365Barrington.com and offering awesome prizes for THREE WINNERS! This contest is all about those students who get a little creative when asking their dates Barrington’s Homecoming Dance. Our first entry was shared by Barrington mom, Molly Grudzinski, who snapped this photo of her freshman daughter, Alex, with her homecoming date.
Molly, who was in on the ask, says Charlie Gay, also a BHS freshman, rang the bell and pretended he had fallen on the front stairs when Alex came to the door.
“He was playing the ‘I’ve fallen and I can’t get up’ Life Alert commercial on the speakers in his car and he was lying on the steps with a homemade sign and flowers when he asked her. And, of course, Alex said yes!”
