The Barrington Junior Women’s Club (BJWC) is bringing old Hollywood glamour to its 2015 Fall Fashion Show. “Legendary Ladies” is the theme of this year’s event which will channel Hollywood’s style icons of the past as the BJWC celebrates the organization’s 80th year. Held at the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Center in Hoffman Estates at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 7th, the fashion show will offer a day of elegant shopping, modern, yet timeless fashion and charity.
“Barrington Junior Women’s Club is one of Barrington’s oldest charity groups, founded in 1936. Several ‘legendary’ women have served this community over the years. There is also a reason why many women are fascinated with the style and glamour of Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and other classic Hollywood beauties. It was an era of simple elegance, striking makeup and timeless fashion. It seemed appropriate to celebrate the talented and caring women that have been a part of this organization while also bringing an old Hollywood feel to our biggest fundraising event of the year,” said co-chair Liisa Gent.
BJWC will also be celebrating its 80th birthday this year, a true testament to the legacy this group has led, and is leaving in the community.
Produced by Zzazz Productions, the fashion show will showcase clothing from Barrington-area boutiques and retailers throughout Chicagoland. The runway will also feature and recognize legendary women from BJWC and the Barrington community. Over 15 area retailers are also expected to set-up-shop for the pre-event shopping experience.
“The backdrop for this year’s runway and boutiques will be set against a blush pink, ivory and gold color scheme,” said Heidi Shannon, event co-chair. “So get ready to set your Instagram photos with a vintage filter and become inspired by some of old Hollywood’s most iconic women.”
The charity portion of the day features silent and live auctions offering an exciting array of luxury items including:
- Generously donated by York Furrier, this year’s LIVE auction will feature the Loro Piana Twighlight Grey Wool Walking Coat. The luxe fox fur collar is classic, feminine and universally flattering.
