Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is kicking off “No-Shave November” and their “Man Up” men’s health campaign by offering free professional shaves from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 29th. Men are welcome to join Clean Shave Day in the salon at Advocate Good Shepherd’s Health & Fitness Center where they can get a free shave followed by a brief wellness check. That way, they’ll have a healthy start to their November beard and mustache growing with freshly shaved faces!
Part of the national movement to draw attention to men’s health issues during the month of November, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital’s public awareness campaign is designed to get men to “man up” about their health. The effort seeks to educate and engage males around men’s health issues including heart disease, male cancers and mental health.
Wellness checks being offered with Thursday’s free shaves will include a BMI and blood pressure check. All Clean Shave Day participants will get the chance to win tickets to an upcoming Chicago Bulls game or a 6-month membership to the Health & Fitness Center in Barrington. Attendees will receive a free shirt in exchange for donations which will support men’s health research.
Clean Shave Day guests can also work out for free on Thursday evening, no fitness center membership required. Men, their family and friends are invited to attend. There is no need to register in advance and you can call 847-620-4500 for more information.
Advocate is also encouraging men to share their best mustache on Twitter and Instagram using #ManUpAtAdvocate. Tag @AdvocateShep and you could win prizes. For more information and ways to get involved, visit ManUpAtAdvocate.com.
