Lake Barrington Shores is celebrating “Giving Tuesday” today by donating $2,500 from this year’s Run the Shores at Lake Barrington 5K to the Cuba Township Food Pantry.
Run the Shores is Lake Barrington Shores’ annual 5K and one-mile fun run/walk in September to benefit the Cuba Township Food Pantry and Cuba Cares. Runners and walkers wind their way throughout Lake Barrington Shores’ picturesque community on a USATF certified course, while helping neighbors in need.
Made possible by participating runners, Lake Barrington Shores’ contribution was able to provide a turkey for Thanksgiving as well as Christmas to every family who receives aid from the CubaTownship.com Food Pantry. Their caption announcing the donation on Facebook reads, “Way to go to all of our participants and volunteers – you’ve made a difference!”
