337. 12 Days of ChristKindlFest Countdown DAY SIX: Holiday Shopping!

As we count down the days through the end of ChristKindlFest 2014, we’re keeping a close eye on the weather forecast. With temperatures expected to reach the mid-forties this weekend, we’re even more excited about our Reason #6 not to miss the 4-day outdoor & tented winter market and music festival. And that’s the HOLIDAY SHOPPING!
During the festival, downtown Barrington will be transformed into a small European village with festive holiday booths selling chocolates, pastries, ornaments, handcrafted items and more.
Crews at Pepper Construction have built ten additional Germanic wooden chalet’s for this week’s festival, bringing the total number of ChristKindlFest retail and food vendor structures up to 20.

80. Savor the Season with Barrington’s Holiday Menus

Area restaurants are rolling out new holiday menus just in time for the Village of Barrington’s festive four-day kickoff to the holiday season this weekend. We’re all invited to start a new tradition of sampling special seasonal dishes at local restaurants throughout the month, starting this Friday night, the eve of Santa’s Saturday arrival in downtown Barrington.

There are over 40 exceptional restaurants to choose from in Barrington, offering something for everyone with cuisines from around the globe. I checked out the holiday menus at three of my favorite Barrington restaurants today, just to give you a little taste of what you’ll find when you dine out in Barrington this month……

245. 1st Annual 365Barrington Holiday Lights Contest

Even if you try to ignore it, there is no escaping the fact that Christmastime is here. “The Holiday Lite“ has been broadcasting radio holiday tunes since well before Thanksgiving, Christmas commercials have taken over the TV and holiday lights are popping up on homes throughout Barrington. So I decided to just give in to the holiday hype and give our weekly Wednesday photo contest a yule-tide twist for the month of December. Between now and Christmas, we’ll be accepting nominations here at 365Barrington.com for the best Barrington Christmas lights. And you don’t have to decorate your home like Clark Griswold to win this contest!
