For this week’s Menu Monday feature, we’re heading to Lake Barrington’s ZaZa’s Tavola Italiana in anticipation of their next wine pairing dinner coming up on Wednesday, March 9th, featuring Botromagno Wines. Produced in the gentle hills of southern Italy’s Puglia region, Botromagno wines are well known for their quality, freshness and fragrance.
The pre-tasting will begin at 6:30 p.m., featuring 15 of Napa’s best wines such as Darioush, Paul Hobbs and Hitching Post, followed by ZaZa’s Botromagno Winemaker Dinner which will be presented by Benjamino D’Agostino The cost of the dinner per person is $75 plus tax & gratuity.
Here’s a look at the dishes that will be served with each Botromagno wine:
Served with sting beans, baby heirloom tomatoes, Gorgonzola cheese, and topped with a drizzling of olive oil & balsamic glaze
Served with our lemon zest Shrimp Bisque
Served with Wild Boar Lasagna with layers of fresh pasta, wild boar, tomato ragu, mushrooms, bechamel and fresh mozzarella
Pan roasted filet mignon filled with Taleggio cheese, wrapped with smoked prosciutto over a red wine reduction. Served with goat cheese mashed potatoes & garlic roasted swiss chard
Served with Nutella hazelnut cheesecake
If you can’t make the wine dinner, but are interested in visiting ZaZa’s, their Insalata Di Pera is one of ZaZa’s Private Events Coordinator, Paula Voska’s favorite items on their menu. “The pears are poached in Chianti wine and the flavor is intense,” Paula says. “Raspberry balsamic glaze is drizzled over mixed greens, candied pecans and Gorgonzola cheese. The sweet, savory and deep flavors all blend perfectly! Also try our Carpaccio Avocado Salad to eat healthy!”
