Welcome to This Day in Barrington History
Good morning and welcome to February 5th and Day 36 of 365 in Barrington, Illinois! You’ll find our stories of the day – past, present & future (events) – right here on today’s DailyPage.
Because every day has its own rhythm, we’re sharing a song of the day here at 365Barrington.com.
On this day in 1962, Ray Charles had the first days recording sessions for his Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music took place at Capitol Studios in New York City. Regarded by many critics as Charles’s best studio album, the albums lead single, ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’, became a huge hit on country music radio stations and the record has now shipped over 500,000 copies in the United States alone.
I went down a Ray Charles rabbit hole yesterday and couldn’t stop listening to his songs which is why “Ain’t That Love” from his 1957 (remastered in 1962) album, “Hallelujah I Love Her So” is our song of the day. It’s a classic!
Stay tuned for our daily songs this month. We’ll be choosing some of our favorite LOVE SONGS leading up to Valentine’s Day.
