Welcome to This Day in Barrington History
Good morning and welcome to February 8th and Day 39 of 365 in Barrington, Illinois! You’ll find our stories of the day – past, present & future (events) – right here on today’s DailyPage. Because every day has its own rhythm, we’re sharing a song of the day here at 365Barrington.com.
On this day, February 8th in 1975, Bob Dylan went to No.1 on the US chart with his 15th studio album Blood On The Tracks, his second US No.1 album. The album has become one of Dylan’s all-time best-selling studio releases, with a double-platinum US certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.
One of my favorite songs from this album is “Simple Twist of Fate” about the role of timing in finding your soulmate. It’s a song that has been reinterpreted by several artists including Joan Baez, the Jerry Garcia Band and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco fame on the soundtrack for the 2007 Bob Dylan biographical film, “I’m Not There“. 💗
